Episode Overview
Grace visits the pharmacy where Quentin is working at the soda fountain and meets his girlfriend, Laurie, for the first time. She notices the pricey backpack Laurie gifted Quentin, along with other lavish items like new pants and a camera. Excitedly, Grace shares that she has finally paid off her credit card and plans a shrimp dinner to celebrate. However, Quentin opts out for a dinner with Laurie and her parents, sparking Grace's jealousy over Laurie's affluent lifestyle. When Grace meets Laurie's mother, Bev, they bond over their shared views on the gifts. Meanwhile, Maxine, recently divorced, flirts with Russell at the pharmacy, prompting him to admit to Dot that he has feelings for someone else. Libby interviews D.C. for her school newspaper.
