Mission: Impossible (1966)
S01E22 The Confession
Episode Overview
Andreas Solowiechek, part of a Communist trade delegation, is apprehended for the assassination of U.S. Senator Townsend. Townsend's supporter, McMillan, is mobilizing his allies to push for the termination of trade discussions with the Russians. It’s suspected that Solowiechek acted independently, prompting the IMF team to intervene. Rollin infiltrates the prison as Solowiechek's cellmate and orchestrates their handcuffing together. He stages an escape, threatening Solowiechek, who then offers a financial incentive from his backer. Meanwhile, Dan poses as an artist to gain access to McMillan's home, discreetly planting a camera in his art supplies. In a tense showdown, Rollin and Solowiechek confront McMillan, who inadvertently confesses to orchestrating Townsend's murder, hoping to martyr himself, all while his admission is broadcast live.
