Norman Shields, a powerful figure in the entertainment industry, is backed financially by Theodore Dane. He sends his brother Benjamin to deliver money for a hostile takeover, prompting the IMF to act. Jim assumes Theo's identity, as he and Shields have never crossed paths, and supports a film production about a murder Shields committed long ago. Willy cleverly swaps Shields' real bullets for blanks, leading to a staged confrontation where Jim pretends to be shot. The IMF captures everything on film and overdubs it with Theo’s voice. When Benjamin demands to see the film that concerns Shields, he’s shocked to watch the IMF's version where Theo is "killed." Meanwhile, Dane retrieves the syndicate records from Shields, who has them taken by Jim and Willy.
