Episode Overview
Greg feels a pang of envy when he encounters Todd, whom he views as the ideal father figure. Previously, his only comparison was Jimmy, but Todd actually engages with his kids instead of opting for golf outings. Haunted by the fear that he’s repeating the mistakes of his own dad, Greg imagines a future where Older Sam toasts to Todd as his inspiration. When Greg realizes Older Sam can’t even remember his name, he resolves to step up his parenting by spending time with Todd's family instead of Jimmy's. However, after just two days of Todd's relentless activity schedule, Greg is ready to tap out. Meanwhile, Jimmy brings in the ultimate "white trash" family, led by the boisterous Earl, to Greg's barbecue to make himself look better. Confronting Todd about his lack of downtime, Greg learns that Todd’s version of alone time is quite different from his own.
