Episode Overview

Once a vibrant hub for blues and jazz, Club Indigo now struggles to stay afloat. Sam, its aging owner, is visited by his grandson Zach, who hopes to persuade him to sell the club and move into a nursing home. Sam, however, clings to the words of “The Countess,” a mysterious singer from the sixties who allegedly revived the club’s fortunes, insisting he will not act until he hears from her. Zach doubts the truth of his grandfather’s nostalgic tales, particularly regarding The Countess, but recognizes Sam's declining health. Despite Zach's objections, Sam hires Monica to host the club's traditional open-mike night. In a bid to regain control, Zach deceives Sam into signing a power of attorney document.
