Episode Overview

During a routine visit to the hospital, Hardcastle learns he has a terminal illness. Determined not to let his friend waste away, Mark urges Hardcastle to embrace life fully. Taking this advice to heart, the judge uses his inheritance to purchase a lavish boat worth a million dollars. Unfortunately, his boating adventure is cut short when armed thieves steal the vessel. Initially, Hardcastle plans to let the authorities handle it, but when he finds out the hospital made a mistake and he isn't dying, he decides to take matters into his own hands. Together with McCormick, they track down the boat, only to discover it actually belongs to a prominent senator. Realizing that Barry Jackson, the man who sold him the boat, is a fraud, Hardcastle checks with his bank about his money's whereabouts. With Lieutenant Harper's assistance, they set up a stakeout, ultimately capturing Jackson and recovering Hardcastle's funds.
