Amanda and Michael have a heated disagreement about how to handle her cancer treatment, but she ultimately recognizes that she needs his support. She confides in Billy about her illness, requesting that he keep it confidential. However, Alison manages to extract the truth from him when she notices his unusually lenient attitude towards Amanda's actions. Meanwhile, Sydney joins Rikki and other cult members at a retreat but becomes uncomfortable when Martin instructs them to deceive their families for money. After witnessing Martin in bed with two women, including Rikki, she decides to leave. Despite Martin’s initial consent, he and Rikki capture her and toss her into a hidden pit. In a separate confrontation, John confronts Kimberly about her role in the attack on Matt, pulling her from her car and threatening her with a gun.
