Barbara is devastated when she learns that her housekeeper lost her life in the explosion. Meanwhile, Sasha persuades Maritza to undergo a rape examination. To protect Barbara, Sully takes her to his home. Maritza uncovers that her attacker, Thomas Warner, has a troubling history of assaulting clinic staff. Despite surviving yet another assassination attempt, this time from a sniper, Barbara insists on overseeing the preliminary hearing for Gary Barnes, the drug dealer linked to her recent threats. Faith expresses her frustration about Bosco and Maritza during a visit to a psychiatrist. After Maritza testifies, Barbara decides to hold Barnes for trial regarding Lettie Cruz's death. Sully witnesses Barnes signaling someone in the courtroom, prompting him and Ty to follow Barnes to a house, where they find him with the man responsible for the bombing at Barbara's home. The armed assailants threaten to detonate explosives they claim are hidden in the house, endangering the entire block.
