Episode Overview
A teenage girl relishes her time spent in gymnastics and the outdoors until she gets a minor scratch on her hand. What seems like a trivial injury fails to heal, transforming into multiple lesions that eventually affect her eyes. Initially suspected to be an MRSA infection, it’s later revealed to be caused by Mycobacterium marinum. Meanwhile, a middle-aged man experiences a choking sensation and persistent coughing. Initially diagnosed with pneumonia, he undergoes spinal surgery, only to suffer from severe throat pain afterward. It’s discovered he accidentally swallowed a can tab. Lastly, a young man starts feeling intense itchiness, which escalates to a headache, nausea, body aches, and difficulty urinating. Tests confirm he has meningitis due to rat lungworm disease.
