Episode Overview

Sister Ulrica pleads with Dorothy to reconsider her decision about the abortion, warning that her despair could lead to self-harm. Meanwhile, Verna and Miss Hasan schedule the procedure for the following day, but chaos ensues when they learn that the new district commander is visiting, forcing them to hide in a storeroom. The new commander, Major Yamauchi, is critical of the camp's structure and swiftly promotes Lieutenant Sato, replacing Nakamura. When the priest returns, Sister Ulrica confesses to helping Dorothy, leading him to arrange for her transfer to a convent. As she departs, she tells Bea that while she learned to be a nun, it was her experiences with them that taught her what it meant to be a woman.
