Episode Overview
On April 30, 1943, the women in the camp face harsh consequences after Rose's daring escape. Though she is returned alive, she has been shot in the back, and Bernard lost his life during the incident. Bea and Kate work together to perform surgery on Rose, with all the women, including Verna, contributing supplies. When Rose regains consciousness, she discovers she is paralyzed from the waist down. Yamauchi and Miss Hasan investigate how Rose maintained contact with Bernard. Blanche struggles to see Rose after the tragedy. Shinya reveals to Dorothy that someone betrayed Rose, and suspicion falls on Christina, who faces the disciplinary committee but receives a Not Proven verdict. Meanwhile, Marion uncovers that Lillian has been giving Bobby special food items, realizing she is the informer seeking extra rations.
