Episode Overview
On July 1, 1945, two years have gone by, and the women find themselves in a new camp, situated in an old prison. Life has been brutal, with many succumbing, including Blanche, Verna, Daisy, and young Suzy. New arrivals include the tough and outspoken Maggie Thorpe and 16-year-old Alice Courtenay, who lost her mother in the camp. As the tide of the war shifts in favor of the Allies against the Japanese, Christina discovers a document in Yamauchi's office that orders the execution of the women. They arm themselves in preparation for a potential fight. During an unexpected Tenko, tension rises as they brace for the worst, only to be stunned when Yamauchi declares the war is over and they are free—though still under Japanese control until the Allies arrive. Meanwhile, Maggie rallies a group intent on confronting Sato.
