Meanwhile, Marion feels stifled by Clifford's overprotectiveness as he tries to shield her from others. New arrivals at Raffles bring news that Nellie passed away just months before the war ended. Mrs. Van Meyer spreads rumors about Dorothy's connection to Shinya, while some newcomers bully Dorothy for collaborating, cornering her until she crashes into Sister Ulrica.
