S01E08 The Terrible Trap of Summoner Ascot
Episode Overview
Hikaru finds an unusual creature and decides to take care of it, naming it after her dog. However, it soon becomes clear that "Hikari" is actually a pet monster that Ascot had been training. As Hikaru spends more time with Hikari, her friends Fuu and Umi grow worried, fearing she might be in danger. They venture out to find her and come across a monstrous being near Hikaru. Initially, they prepare to attack, but Hikaru reveals that the creature is Hikari. Despite their hesitation, Hikari, whose real name is “Bigot,” wreaks havoc in the forest, causing fires and knocking Fuu unconscious while seizing Umi. In a fit of anger, Hikaru ultimately decides to end Hikari’s life. They bury the creature, only to be shaken by an earthquake, prompting them to rush off in search of their Machines.
