Bill and Ted throw a free Wyld Stallyns concert in the park, but to their dismay, the crowd leaves in droves. Feeling defeated, they contemplate giving up music altogether. Meanwhile, in future San Dimas, the Three Most Important People summon Rufus to inform him that the fate of their world is at risk. If Bill and Ted stop pursuing their music, time itself will unravel. They instruct Rufus to guide them subtly rather than revealing the dire future. When he visits the duo, he’s younger and sporting longer hair. Realizing he’ll keep getting younger until they return to music, he presents them with a mysterious agenda. Their first stop is Thomas Edison’s lab, where they encourage him to persevere with his phonograph. An accidental pancake mishap inspires Edison to create a record. Afterward, they find Rufus transformed into a geeky teenager. Their journey continues to Leonardo da Vinci’s workshop, where Rufus, now a nine-year-old, causes
