The Untouchables (1959)
S02E27 Stranglehold
Episode Overview
In 1933, New York is plagued by racketeers infiltrating every aspect of business. The Fulton Fish Market, a vital supplier for the East Coast and as far west as the Mississippi, handles an astonishing 700 million pounds of fish annually, valued at $200 million. When Captain Joe McGonigle, the owner of the Margie Mac, refuses to pay protection money, two enforcers from Frank Mercouris—Lenny Shore and Swede Kelso—murder his deckhand, drawing media attention. This incident marks the start of escalating conflict with the Syndicate, prompting Eliot Ness and his team to travel to New York.
