In 1929 Chicago, Mike Brannon, a seasoned cop with 15 years on the force, finds himself suspended after injuring one of Tony Lamberto's drug-dealing associates. Frustrated, Mike believes Captain Bellows is compromised for failing to support him. Tensions rise when the Captain demands Mike’s gun, leading to a standoff where Mike briefly aims it at him. Ultimately, he relinquishes the weapon and walks out, leaving a cloud of unresolved conflict in his wake.
