When Buffalo's latest Electra, ZFE, arrives in Yellowknife with only three engines operational, mechanic Chuck Adams steps in to replace a vital $29,000 regulator on engine number three. The airline is facing a downturn, and delivering construction supplies to the RCMP in Ulukhaktok, NWT, could help keep it afloat. However, following a recent crash and two engine fires, an audit team from Transport Canada arrives, pressuring Buffalo Airways to appoint a new "Accountable Executive" within 72 hours, or face closure. Joe refuses to relinquish control, even to his eldest son, Rod. Meanwhile, Joe's thoughts are troubled as his 16-year-old rescue dog, Sophie, shows signs of decline. One day, Joe discovers Sophie beneath a plane, unable to rise, and he realizes it’s time to call the vet.
