Rawhide (1959)

Episode Overview

Wish grows weary of cooking on the trail and decides to take a break. He crosses paths with a woman and her three sons, who are struggling under the thumb of her abusive husband, Fred Harmon. When Fred confronts Wish at the hotel, he violently attacks him. In a desperate act of self-defense, Mrs. Harmon shoots her husband. To protect her, Wish steps forward and takes the blame. However, Charlie Peg, the hotel clerk, is aware of the true events and seizes the opportunity to blackmail Wish for his silence.
