A thousand years ago, Denia on the Costa Blanca flourished as a vibrant Islamic outpost in medieval Europe, until its Christianization in 1242. During this era, Spain thrived on a rich Arab culture, bringing advancements in mathematics, astronomy, and art. The Time Team has gathered to conduct an important excavation before the site undergoes redevelopment, eagerly searching for signs of Islamic pottery and burial sites. Bone expert Jackie examines the numerous skeletons unearthed so far. Meanwhile, Phil takes a dive to explore underwater. Moroccan chef Mustapha Saaida enchants Carenza with traditional 900-year-old dishes made from local ingredients, while Mick "the Dig" works on revealing a kiln filled with pottery fragments. Victor captures the essence of the ancient town through his sketches.
