André Morell
André Morell (20 August 1909 – 28 November 1978), occasionally credited as Andre Morell, was a prominent British actor known for his extensive work in theatre, film, and television spanning from the 1930s to the 1970s. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Professor Bernard Quatermass in the BBC Television series "Quatermass and the Pit" (1958–59) and as Doctor Watson in the Hammer Film Productions adaptation of "The Hound of the Baskervilles" (1959). Morell also made notable appearances in critically acclaimed films such as "The Bridge on the River Kwai" (1957) and "Ben-Hur" (1959). Throughout the 1960s, he appeared in several iconic Hammer horror films and was featured in the historical drama series "The Caesars" on ITV (1968).
