Clinton Sundberg
Clinton Charles Sundberg (December 7, 1903 – December 14, 1987) was a distinguished American character actor known for his contributions to both theater and film. Initially a teacher of English literature, Sundberg transitioned to acting, performing in stock theater productions across New England. He made his Broadway debut in the 1933 play *Nine Pine Street,* and his career flourished with memorable performances, including Mr. Kraler in the original 1957 staging of *The Diary of Anne Frank* and as Mortimer Brewster in the 1944 production of *Arsenic and Old Lace*.
Sundberg found success as a contract player at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, where he took on various supporting roles throughout the late 1940s and early 1950s. His notable performances included Mike, the bartender in *Easter Parade,* who listens to Judy Garland's character, and Rudy Hansen in *In the Good Old Summertime,* a film that also starred Garland and Van Johnson. In addition to his film work, Sundberg appeared on television, including roles in two episodes of *Perry Mason* and a leading guest role in *Lawman* as Luther Boardman.
