Plot

Set in 1500, Duke Cesare Borgia aims to secure an alliance by marrying his sister to Ferrara's heir, a plot that complicates his ambitions for central Italy. He enlists Andrea Orsini, his sister's lover and a man with questionable morals. During his journey, Orsini encounters Camilla Verano, the wife of Città del Monte's count, and begins to develop genuine feelings for her. As romance blossoms, Orsini finds himself torn between his growing affections and loyalty to the ruthless Borgia, who doesn't take kindly to betrayal.
