Plot

After a 13-year absence, DeeDee returns to her hometown with her son, Trooper, rekindling old friendships and stirring up emotions. Her childhood best friend, Sam, is now married to Lydia, a veterinarian who feels uneasy about DeeDee's arrival and her past with Sam. Despite initial hesitations, DeeDee charms the townsfolk with her kindness and launches a candle-making business, fostering connections through weekly gatherings. However, during a dinner, DeeDee reveals her terminal illness to Sam and expresses her wish for Trooper to be adopted. Moved by her situation, Sam and Lydia contemplate taking Trooper in as their own.
