Plot
In January 1963, Leo Cauffield, a British journalist, vanishes from his Beirut home, leaving his wife, Sally, in turmoil. While aware of his part-time work for British intelligence, she is shocked to learn from the embassy that he may have defected to Communist Russia. Driven by love and desperation, Sally embarks on a quest to uncover the truth, retracing their passionate relationship and Leo's past as a former MI6 counter-espionage chief. Her journey spans London, New York, and ultimately leads her to Moscow, where secrets are waiting to be unveiled.
