Plot

Bart Collins, a young boy burdened by piano lessons with the tyrannical Dr. Terwilliker, shares a home with his widowed mother, Heloise. Feeling that Terwilliker's dark hold over his mother is suffocating, Bart confides in a visiting plumber, August Zabladowski, but finds little solace. During a particularly grueling practice session, exhaustion takes over, and Bart slips into a vibrant dream filled with whimsical music and surreal adventures. In this fantastical realm, he confronts the oppressive influences in his life, all while seeking freedom from the piano's relentless grip.
