The Return of Martin Guerre (1982)
Plot
In the summer of 1542, in the village of Artigat, southern France, Martin Guerre weds Bertrande de Rols amidst the reign of Francis I. However, after a few years, Martin vanishes following accusations of theft. Nearly ten years later, a stranger appears in Artigat asserting he is Martin. Initially, the Guerre family believes him, but as time passes, suspicions about his true identity begin to surface, leading to a tense examination of truth and deception in their lives.
