Plot
Jack emerges as the only survivor of a devastating Japanese strike on his unit during the Guadalcanal campaign, earning him the prestigious Medal of Honor. Back home, he takes on the role of a trainer for new Marine recruits and finds love with Peggy. However, as he grapples with the emptiness stemming from training and impending marriage, Jack opts for a transfer back to combat. As he faces the harsh realities of war once more, the challenges of married life begin to reshape his perspective on duty and sacrifice in the face of relentless conflict.
