Plot

Emily Crane loses her job for standing firm against the House Un-American Activities Committee in 1951. Seeking a fresh start, she takes on a part-time role caring for an elderly woman. Her curiosity piqued by a heated argument in German from a nearby house, she discovers that one of the debaters is a prominent senator involved in her past. As she delves deeper into the mystery, she teams up with FBI agent Cochran, who was originally assigned to investigate her. Their partnership becomes crucial as dangerous truths start to surface.
