Plot
Victor Valance, a neglectful father and compulsive gambler, finds himself entangled in dubious casino dealings overseas. His return to Paris is motivated by financial desperation, prompting him to exploit his eldest daughter, Pauline, who has assumed the family’s responsibilities while working at the Ministry of Finance. As Victor's schemes are foiled by Pauline’s determination, she uncovers that gangsters are hunting for him.
