Plot
Set in 1935 Texas, Edna Spaulding faces immense challenges as a newly widowed mother of two, tasked with managing a struggling farm and limited finances. Amidst the threat of a devastating tornado and the looming presence of the Ku Klux Klan, she finds support in unlikely allies: her sister Margaret, a beautician; Mr. Will, a blind boarder; and Moze, a thief with a heart who offers to educate her on cotton farming. Together, they navigate hardship, resilience, and the fight for a better future.
