Plot
Buck Weaver and Hap Felsch, two ambitious members of the Chicago White Sox, find themselves disillusioned under the tight-fisted ownership of Charles Comiskey, who mistreats his players and pays them poorly. Exploiting the team’s discontent, gamblers entice several players into a conspiracy to deliberately lose the World Series for profit. As the White Sox succumb to defeat, sharp-eyed sports writers begin to suspect foul play.
