Plot

In the midst of the Great Depression, Cecilia, a waitress in New Jersey, endures a monotonous existence. Her sole refuge is the local cinema, where she immerses herself in films. After being laid off from her job, she seeks solace in 'The Purple Rose of Cairo,' captivated by the charming archaeologist Tom Baxter, whom she watches repeatedly.
