Plot
As World War II erupts, German freighter captain Karl Ehrlich prepares to depart Sydney, Australia, aboard the Ergenstrasse. Despite being an anti-Nazi, he takes pride in his heritage and aims to evade a British warship hot on his trail. Among his crew is Elsa Keller, a woman tasked with returning to Germany, who harbors vital secrets. Tensions escalate when Ehrlich's zealous chief officer, Kirchner, commits a shocking act, transforming the chase into a perilous game of survival against British forces determined to capture them.
