Mission: Impossible (1966)

Episode Overview

Howard Bainbridge, a chemical warfare specialist who defected to the East, fell victim to his own experiments before making his way back to the U.S. to his family estate. There, his paranoid and arch-conservative father, Justin, had him killed and buried in secret. With Howard having destroyed all records prior to his defection, the IMF is tasked with retrieving his body to obtain chemical samples. Unbeknownst to Justin, his head of security is an enemy agent also searching for Howard's remains. The IMF infiltrates an air-raid shelter on the property, using a hidden microphone and holographic projectors to create eerie visions for Justin. Haunted by apparitions of his son and deceased wife Janette (played by Dana), Justin seeks advice from physician Paris, who urges him to confront his guilt. Ultimately, Justin digs up his son's body, which the IMF then secures.
