Mission: Impossible (1966)
S06E08 Underwater
Episode Overview
Berlinger, a wealthy gem manufacturer and dealer in stolen jewels, is set to hand over a shipment of diamonds worth $75 million to a Syndicate leader. The only person aware of the diamonds' location is Hoffman, Berlinger's former right-hand man, who has hidden them after stealing them. As Berlinger tortures Hoffman for the information, the IMF steps in to retrieve both the gems and the cash. Barney rescues Hoffman, and they team up to locate the diamonds, which are buried with a courier in the ocean. Casey poses as a diver to lure Berlinger to Jim, who proposes a deal. Meanwhile, Willy tracks Hoffman to the diamonds, and the team apprehends him. Jim then brings Berlinger to the same site and, under pressure, strikes a deal for the $5 million. Eventually, during the exchange, the police swoop in and arrest everyone involved.
