Peter Graves
Peter Graves, originally named Peter Duesler Aurness, was an American actor born on March 18, 1926, in Minnesota. He demonstrated talent in both athletics and music during his youth, particularly as a saxophonist. By the age of 16, he had begun his career as a radio announcer at WMIN in Minneapolis. After serving two years in the United States Air Force, Graves pursued drama studies at the University of Minnesota. He then moved to Hollywood, marking his television debut before making his film entrance in the 1951 movie Rogue River. Throughout his career, he appeared in numerous films, particularly in the Western genre. Nevertheless, Graves is chiefly remembered for his iconic role as Jim Phelps in the television series Mission: Impossible, which premiered in 1966. Tragically, Peter Graves passed away from a heart attack on March 14, 2010, just shy of his 84th birthday. His contributions to both film and television have left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry, solidifying his legacy as a versatile performer.
