Alice Krige
Alice Maud Krige is a renowned South African actress and producer. She gained prominence with her debut film role as Sybil Gordon, a singer in the acclaimed 1981 film *Chariots of Fire*, which won an Academy Award. Her versatility as an actress is evident in her diverse roles across various genres. Krige is particularly known for portraying the Borg Queen in *Star Trek: First Contact*, a character she revisited in the series finale of *Star Trek: Voyager* and later in the attraction "Borg Invasion 4-D" at Star Trek: The Experience.
Krige studied psychology and literature at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, where she shifted her focus to drama, ultimately earning an honors degree. She further honed her craft at the London Central School of Speech and Drama before making her acting debut in the 1979 BBC Play for Today. Following her success in *Chariots of Fire*, she continued to receive acclaim in both film and theater throughout the 1980s and 1990s, transitioning to notable roles in television. Married to writer/director Paul Schoolman, Krige enjoys an "itinerant" lifestyle, balancing time between their home in the U.S. and various international locations
