Burt Kwouk

Burt Kwouk OBE, originally named Herbert Kwouk, was a distinguished actor of Chinese heritage, born in England. He gained fame for his memorable performances in various television shows and is particularly celebrated for portraying Cato in the iconic Pink Panther film series.

Kwouk's career spanned several decades, beginning in the 1950s, during which he appeared in numerous British television programs, showcasing his versatility and talent. His work in the entertainment industry included notable appearances in series such as "The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends" and "The Taming of the Shrew," as well as guest roles in "Doctor Who" and "The Good Life."

However, it was his role as the bumbling but loyal manservant Cato, opposite the legendary Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau, that solidified his status in cinematic history. The character became a beloved figure, providing both humor and action throughout the series.

In recognition of his contributions to the arts, Kwouk was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2011.
