Martín Garralaga

Martín Garralaga, born on November 10, 1894, in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, was a prolific actor whose career spanned both film and television, culminating in over two hundred performances. His journey to the United States began in April 1924 when he traveled from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, to San Juan, Puerto Rico, aboard the steamship Catherine.

Garralaga is perhaps most recognized for his iconic role as "Pancho" in the early Cisco Kid films, which showcased his talent and charm, endearing him to audiences of the era. His work extended into television, where he made memorable appearances, including a notable role as Ramirez in the 1958 episode "A Tree for Planting" of the CBS western series, The Texan. In this episode, he shared the screen with Lurene Tuttle and Paul Fix, portraying a Mexican farmer struggling against cattle ranchers threatening his peach orchards, a narrative that highlighted his ability to embody diverse characters.

Throughout his extensive career, Garralaga demonstrated versatility and dedication to his craft, contributing significantly to the film and television landscape. He passed away on June 12, 1981, in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, at the age of 86, leaving behind a rich legacy in the entertainment industry that continues to be celebrated.
