Plot
Lt. Koji Kitami, a skilled navigator-bombardier in Japan's Naval Air Force, takes part in the historic attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. Upon returning home, he is celebrated as a hero, basking in national pride amidst Japan's early victories in the Pacific War. However, as the tide turns and the Japanese navy suffers a devastating defeat at Midway, Kitami's unwavering belief in his country’s cause begins to falter. Faced with the harsh realities of war, he grapples with his sense of honor and loyalty, questioning the very ideals he once held dear.
