Overview

Todd McFarlane's Spawn, an animated series that aired on HBO from 1997 to 1999, brings the dark world of the Spawn comic series to life. It won an Emmy in 1999 for Outstanding Animation Program and has since been released on DVD as a film series. The show, known for its graphic violence, mature themes, and strong language, retains the edgy essence of the original comics. An unrelated project, Spawn: The Animation, has been in development since 2009, with Keith David set to reprise his iconic role. IGN ranked it 5th in their list of the greatest comic book cartoons.
