He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Pete Porter in the beloved sitcoms December Bride (1954–1959) and its spin-off, Pete and Gladys (1960–1962). Morgan's versatility as an actor shone through in his role as Officer Bill Gannon on the iconic series Dragnet (1967–1970), where he showcased his knack for combining humor with drama.
His talent extended to the Western genre with his character Amos Coogan in Hec Ramsey (1972–1974), but he is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Colonel Sherman T.
